How to Remove Yourself from BeenVerified

BeenVerified is a major background check and people-search service. Removing your information requires navigating their opt-out flow, which includes creating an account. This guide walks through the process.

No service can guarantee complete removal of personal information from the internet. Opt-out paths, timelines, and relisting behavior vary by source.

What BeenVerified shows

BeenVerified profiles can contain your name, address history, phone numbers, email addresses, criminal records, property records, and social media associations. They pull from public records and commercial data feeds.

The opt-out flow

BeenVerified requires you to create a free account before you can submit a removal request. After logging in, you search for your record, select the listing, and submit a suppression request. Processing typically takes 24 to 48 hours.

Why the account requirement frustrates people

Many users find it counterintuitive to create an account with a data broker just to remove their data. This is one of the reasons services like ours exist. The account also requires email verification, which some users prefer not to share.

How DeleteMyTrace helps with BeenVerified

BeenVerified is part of our 8-source monitoring set. Our signal detection identifies your listing, and our cleanup process handles the account creation and opt-out submission on your behalf so you don't have to interact with the broker directly.
